Thank you for Praying

There is so much that has happened over the past few days that it is hard to even begin to explain it all. The long story short is that Kai's birthmother decided right after we arrived at the hospital that she wanted Kai for the 3 days she was in the hospital all to herself. She ended up having an infection and against medical advice took him anyway. Because she did this, she put his health at risk and also put us in the position of not being able to see him or spend time with him. Both of them have been in isolation since Wednesday.

As you can imagine we have been a mess. We have not been able to have any contact and we have been extremely worried for Kai's safety and health. This is a woman who has a long standing criminal record and has lost her other children to social services for neglect. In addition she has now exposed him to a potentially life threatening infection. On top of all of this, she has demanded gifts and items from us and rang up a $250 bill for hospital photos. While we have a great deal of compassion for her circumstances, we also feel like she has not had Kai's best interest at heart and she has treated us less than fair, making many demands of us and causing us a lot of fear and grief.

Needless to say we have been a wreck. We are sad we have missed bonding time with Kai. I am sad I have not gotten to nurse him. And we are so worried for his health. The good news is , today we found out the birthmother will be transported back to jail tomorrow morning and at some point we will be able to come pick up Kai for good. Please continue to pray for every detail to be worked out. We are so anxious for him to be with us. Please also pray he is healthy enough to leave the hospital and no infection is present.
